In international cargo transportation from the USA, a valued packing list is a substitute for commercial invoice related to goods shipping from the USA overseas. When shipping cargo from USA, do not confuse a packing list (1) used in the international cargo transportation industry to describe the way how cargo packed with a Valued Packing List (2) required by origin and destination Customs in purpose to control legality of commodity and assign duty, taxes, etc. (if any) on shipping from USA goods.

  1. Packing list most of the time used on shipping from USA commercial cargo. It is an attachment to commercial invoices submitted on commercial goods exporting from the U.S. This packing list provides additional details on packing shipping from USA goods and may not indicate the value of shipped products. Do not confuse such packing lists with fumigation certificates.
  2. Submitting Valued Packing List/Proforma Commercial Invoice in shipping from the USA

If you have an original commercial invoice or a receipt on your purchase prepared for the transporting from the USA overseas, then it is highly recommended to submit a copy of the document.
